Giving it a try – NaBloPoMo, Day 1

Cute baby!

It’s been a long while since I wrote anything here, but I was inspired by the idea of National Blog Posting Month to come back and try and write every day during November.

So last time I posted, I had just started a new temp job. That job turned into a permanent job for a company I feel good working for, making good money, with great benefits.

Really great benefits, actually, which meant that Jack and I were able to try for something we never thought we could afford – having our own child.

It worked, and our daughter was born on April 15th, 7 pounds, 7 ounces, 20.5 inches long, with a full head of hair.

A lot of knitters, I have noticed, seem to lose their knitting mojo when they get pregnant, as if there’s only so much creative energy to go around, and most of it gets used up creating a person. I didn’t lose mine – I was still knitting nearly every day during my entire pregnancy. I knit a baby blanket, three sweaters, a pair of socks. I lost my words, though, and I only feel like they’re starting to come back now.

So here I am, back on the blog, and ready to talk about my (minimal) knitting, (practically nonexistent) spinning, and the journey I have embarked on as a new mom.
